Privacy policy

Our principles

At Lancet Homes, we respect your personal information. We recognise that when you choose to provide us with information about yourself, you trust us to act in a responsible manner with the information entrusted to us. That’s why we have put a policy in place to protect your personal information. This policy describes how we collect, use and store the data we collect from you.

What information do we collect?

Lancet Homes are keen to constantly improve our service, and make our website the best it can possibly be. We want to ensure all pages of our website (lancet-homes.co.uk) have been fully optimised to give you the best possible user experience.
We collect both personal and non-personal data to enhance your interaction with Lancet Homes.

Non-personal data

Through the use of our website, Lancet Homes may automatically collect non-personal data about your viewing habits, including:

  • How you interact with the Lancet Homes websites – how long you were on the website, what pages you viewed etc.
  • Whether you are a first-time user or a returning user
  • Information about the device you’re using to access our site, including hardware, software, model and browser information
  • Whether you accessed lancet-homes.co.uk directly, via a search engine or through another third party
  • General location information (country/region)

We collect aggregate statistics about website users’ traffic patterns and related site information, but these statistics will include no personally identifying information. This information is collected from standard web server log files and cookies as it is on the majority of sites on the Internet, which will only record your internet usage by a randomly-generated 18-digit numerical identifier, not by personal information like your name and address. You will remain completely anonymous. You can read more about our cookie policy here.

We use the following channels to collect non-personal data:

  • Google Analytics – Lancet Homes uses a third-party service called Google Analytics to collect information such as website visitor behavior patterns and user journeys when on our site.

    – This system uses your unique numerical identifier rather than your personal information (meaning you won’t be identified by name, but by your device’s unique numerical ID), but allows us to monitor things like tracking and conversion data:

  • Tracking – We track user activity on our website (such as number of pages visited and time spent on each page) for statistical analysis purposes to improve the Lancet Homes website and its functionality.
  • Conversions – By tracking ‘conversions’ (how many people fill out data-capture forms on our website), Lancet Homes can monitor how effective our website is for providing relevant information, and monitor how engaged our users are when on our website.

If you don’t want Google to collect data for use on their Google Analytics software, you can install the Google Analytics Opt-Out Browser add-on here.

Personal data

You are not obliged to give Lancet Homes any personal information in order to use our website. However, we do collect some basic details from those who make a specific request for brochures or other general enquiries. This includes (but is not limited to):

  • your name
  • address
  • telephone number
  • email address
  • postcode

We may also ask some further, voluntary questions so we can gain a clearer understanding of our users’ exact requirements and preferences. These details are stored electronically and can be reported on by website administrators at Lancet Homes.

After fulfilling any specific request, we will not contact you again (unless you have given us permission to do so) with any other information, although your details will be retained on our records for statistical purposes only. (See our ‘Active Opt-In section below).

Active Opt-In

At Lancet Homes, we want to stay ahead of all relevant data protection regulations. That’s why, in line with the General Data Protection Regulations (GDPR), we have now made sure that each and every form on the Lancet Homes website which requires personal information has an active opt-in.

This means that, instead of relying on a tick box to say you don’t want to receive ongoing communications from Lancet Homes, we operate an active opt-in policy, which means that you’ve got to actively tick a box when submitting an online form to you give Lancet Homes your express permission to contact you with marketing materials and further updates. Only then can we contact you with marketing information.

You can still submit your information without actively opted in – this just means that Lancet Homes will use your information for its intended purpose only (to discuss your initial query) and your information will be permanently deleted once the enquiry has been actioned, unless you at that point give us your explicit permission to retain your information.

Please note: under the Data Protection Act, you have the right to withdraw your permission at any time (even if you have actively opted in), at which point we will delete any information we hold on you.
